[09:19]<@bc_programming> hi Camerongray
[09:20]<+camerongray> Hey
[09:23]<@bc_programming> heh, I'm practically done the app, and he still hasn't accepted a bid yet
[09:24]<@bc_programming> worst case scenario, I sell it as a lightweight and cheaper alternative to the more pricey "timeclock" applications that I see about
[09:24]<+camerongray> Cool
[09:25]<+camerongray> I'd like to start selling software
[09:28]<@bc_programming> http://www.bc-programming.com/?page=ss
[09:28]<@bc_programming> That reads so serious
[09:31]<+camerongray> lol
[09:37]<@bc_programming> actually this could be pretty good, I remember a few of the small repair stores around here were just using some crappy access database type thing to keep track of everything
[09:37]<@bc_programming> I just happen to know of a product they can use instead
[09:50]<@bc_programming> ahh yes, WPF, LINQ, and ADO.NET, the circle of enterprisey developers
[10:21]<Craig> BC, your pricing model is too complex for most people, they wouldnt understand that :P
[10:23]<Craig> Hey BC, have you ever played with LinuxMCE?
[10:23]<Craig> And do you know how to code in C++ or whatever languages they are using?
[10:23]<@bc_programming> Craig: Most people don't run a business
[10:23]<Craig> :P
[10:24]<@bc_programming> never used LinuxMCE. Is that like for a media center or something
[10:24]<Craig> Yeah, but it can integrate all functions of a house excluding going to the bathroom or kitchen,
[10:24]<@bc_programming> ahh so it is
[10:24]<Craig> :P
[10:25]<Craig> But it can also handle media, security, automation and other tings
[10:25]<Craig> things*
[10:26]<@bc_programming> they should have called it LMCEINAMC
[10:26]<@bc_programming> LInux Media Center Edition is Not a Media Center
[10:26]<@bc_programming> you know because Open Source ppl think that sort of name is funny
[10:26]<Craig> Hahahaha
[10:26]<@bc_programming> though in this case it would be quite true as well :P since it is more
[10:27]<Craig> Yeah
[10:27]<Craig> :)
[10:27]<Craig> Anyway, my curiosity is such that, if you could program for it, I would be interested in partnering with you...
[10:28]<@bc_programming> I'll be honest, I hate programming on linux. it sucksass
[10:28]<Craig> Why is that?
[10:28]<@bc_programming> take for example, a few days ago
[10:28]<Craig> And it would be making corrections to the code, or adding features more than outright writing for the os.
[10:29]<Craig> most of the coding could be done in windows.
[10:29]<@bc_programming> I don't mean that like the programs used for coding suck, they are mostly OK
[10:29]<@bc_programming> it's the actual API and library stuff in Linux that is a massive pain
[10:29]<Craig> Ahh yes, probably because of its opensource nature...
[10:30]<@bc_programming> I can't even get sounds to play with Python because the OSS sound system is deprecated and nothing I found could play a sound through ALSA
[10:30]<@bc_programming> I managed to play a sound by giving up and just shelling out mplayer, haha
[10:30]<Craig> :P
[10:30]<Craig> Asside from that,
[10:30]<@bc_programming> but yeah I guess it would depend on what you needed
[10:30]<Craig> what do you think of the idea,
[10:31]<Craig> Well that depends on what I get done over the next month, and how everything works out.
[10:31]<+camerongray> Hey Craig
[10:31]<Craig> Hey Cam
[10:45]<@bc_programming> can never get tired of Desktop cube
[10:45]<@bc_programming> http://bc-programming.com/images/cubefun.png
[10:48]<+camerongray> lol
[10:57]<+camerongray> Anyone have ideas for a PHP project?
[10:57]<+camerongray> Or .net - Either would be fun
[11:21]<@bc_programming> hmm
[11:21]<@bc_programming> not really
[11:57]<+camerongray> bc_programming, Do you know how to stop the system shutting down in vb.net?
[11:58]<+camerongray> Could I just run a shell command (shutdown -a) on the form closing event?

[12:31]<@bc_programming> why do you want to stop a system shutdown?
[12:31]<@bc_programming> I think you can use the ShutdownWindowsEx() API to abort a shutdown though
[12:33]<@bc_programming> oh sorry ,ExitWindowsEx
[12:33]<@bc_programming> or not
[12:34]<@bc_programming> heh it's just AbortSystemShutdown()
[12:34]<@bc_programming> http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/aa376630%28v=vs.85%29.aspx
[12:34]<@bc_programming> iirc
[12:35]<@bc_programming> declare for VB.NET would <probably> be something like Declare Function AbortSystemShutdown Lib "Kernel32.dll" (IntPtr lpMachineName) As Integer
[12:58]<+camerongray> Ahh - thanks - Will try that later
[13:01]<@bc_programming> No I order you to try it now
[13:01]<@bc_programming> heh

[17:14]<Tux2> I'm making a short video advertising our server, and just wrote out a short script for it.
[17:15]<@bc_programming> uh, ok
[17:15]<Tux2> http://pastebin.com/8ay08z54
[17:15]<Tux2> Tell me what you think.
[17:16]<@bc_programming> Considering the server has almost nothing to do with ponies outside a given region afaik I'm not sure if that really does it justice
[17:17]<Tux2> lol, actually that one is targeted at the brony community. I was going to do a general one for the general public.
[17:17]<Tux2> Unless you have ideas.
[17:17]<@bc_programming> oh ok
[17:32]<@bc_programming> one of my megaman music video things is oddly popular
[17:38]<Tux2> lol
[17:45]<@bc_programming> hmm interesting
[17:45]<@bc_programming> Art of Dress Acapella + Super Mario Kart Rainbow Road music
[17:45]<@bc_programming> I find it oddly disturbing that they fit at all but they do
[17:46]<@bc_programming> this HAS to be a new video to upload... it's insane
[17:47]<@bc_programming> I don't even have to change anything
[17:48]<@bc_programming> I just overlaid the acapella over it and a lot of it actually fits hilariously
[18:06]<Tux2> lol!
[18:06]<@bc_programming> like the tune goes quiet at the right moments
[18:10]<@bc_programming> uploading the video now
[18:15]<@bc_programming> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZUlpJuUdYcQ
[18:15]<@bc_programming> haha
[18:45]<Tux2> lol
[18:45]<Tux2> That was a fast upload

[23:08]<@bc_programming> tux2:heh
[23:08]<Tux2> lol, I saw the comment you left on the video...
[23:09]<Tux2> I totally skipped over that other wallpaper when I made the video though... :(
[23:09]<@bc_programming> haha
[23:13]<Tux2> What did you think of the stage music though?
[23:13]<@bc_programming> pretty cool
[23:16]<Tux2> That's what I thought. RainbowCrash88 posted a bulletien that he was getting interviewed tonight, so I hopped on for the interview and he said "what if I told you I could give you a 20 second preview of the Rainbow Dash theme?" I was on it... thing is it took 20 minutes for them to transfer the file before they could play it... lol...
[23:16]<Tux2> So I was sitting there, recording the show with audacity for 20 minutes...
